ACCC rules on eRx

THE Aus­tralian Com­pe­ti­tion and Con­sumer Com­mis­sion yes­ter­day is­sued a draft de­ter­mi­na­tion, propos­ing to grant au­tho­ri­sa­tion to eRx Script Ex­change to give ef­fect to its on­go­ing rev­enue shar­ing ar­range­ment with IP MDS Pty Ltd (for­merly MediSe­cure) through un­til 30 Jun 2020.

The ACCC granted in­terim au­tho­ri­sa­tion to the pact ear­lier this year ( 07 Jun), al­low­ing eRx and MDS to con­tinue to op­er­ate their re­spec­tive elec­tronic pre­scrip­tion ex­change sys­tems in­ter­op­er­a­bly, and share the fee that is paid to the dis­pens­ing phar­ma­cist un­der the Sixth Com­mu­nity Phar­macy Agree­ment.

The ACCC will now con­sider sub­mis­sions in re­sponse to the draft de­ter­mi­na­tion be­fore is­su­ing a fi­nal de­ci­sion - see
