A tripod is essential for sharp shots as it keeps your camera still during longer exposures. “My Gitzo 4542LS offers a good compromise of weight and strength. It has a levelling base, perfect for fast setup using tilt-shift lenses and when stitching panoramas. I use it with a Really Right Stuff BH-55 ball head, bought secondhand as they’re very expensive!” says David. “I also use a remote for shake-free exposures.”
