Janet’s comment

Photo Plus - - The Apprentice -

We started off with some close-up abstract shots at a waterfall near Loch Ken. Morag advised to get down low into a comfortable pose as we’d be there for a while, tinkering with close-up compositions focusing on the textures and flow of the water. Using a macro lens, we tried a lower shutter speed of 1/60 sec – this froze the bubbles but kept the flow of water blurred. In this shot I used a wide aperture of f/2.8, which has blurred the foreground and background elements, so the eye is drawn to the sharp centre.
