at dawn and dusk we of­ten shoot to­wards the sun as this is the most vi­brant part of the sky. How­ever, the sky will of­ten be much brighter than the land so a bal­anced ex­po­sure can be a strug­gle. one so­lu­tion is to take two shots (us­ing a tri­pod) and blend them to­gether later. ei­ther shoot man­u­ally and vary the shut­ter speed for this, or al­ter­na­tively use aper­ture pri­or­ity mode and dial in ex­po­sure com­pen­sa­tion. Here our sky ex­po­sure was 2 sec­onds long, the land ex­po­sure was 10 sec­onds – a dif­fer­ence of 2 and 1/3 stops.
