Get the glow and process your shots in adobe camera Raw
01 Strip the vibrance
Start by opening the image in Camera Raw, then from the Basic editing tab take the Vibrance and Saturation sliders down to -100. By using this approach rather than converting the image to grayscale, you retain more tones from the original.
02 auto tone
Next, open up the image in Photoshop. Go to Image>auto Tone and then Image>auto Colour to quickly tone your shot. Depending on the scene contents, this is generally a good starting point for you to tweak the colour balance again in the next steps.
03 tweak the colour
To customise your infrared shot, add a Colour Balance Adjustment layer. As you drag the sliders around, you’ll notice that a variety of textures and colours give the shot more interest. We added cyan to the shade, but you can go as funky or subdued as you want.
04 Strip the colour
With the Dodge tool set to highlights, click over portions of the image, such as foliage, to brighten up these tonal areas. By selectively editing, you’ll avoid blowing out areas such as the sky and create more punch and contrast in the final result.
