About 90 people took to the Karratha hills last month for the Karratha Community Associations’ annual Yaburara Heritage Trail fun walk.

KCA acting chairman Stuart Otto said despite lower numbers than last year, he was pleased with the level of community participation.

“It is held for no other reason than for the community to be able to enjoy looking at the hills from the top and look back down over the city while they are up there,” he said.

“What we have found over the past five years, is people who have not walked it before, do this, then begin an exercise program walking the hill or some of the smaller trails.”

Mr Otto said being up the top of the hills gave people a good appreciation of how “beautiful” Karratha was.
