Crack­down on town’s row­dies

Lo­cal po­lice and rangers are work­ing to­gether to crack down on an­ti­so­cial and in­ap­pro­pri­ate be­hav­iour in New­man.

Author­i­ties have in­stalled sev­eral signs around the town cen­tre and shop­ping precinct which de­tail what are un­ac­cept­able be­hav­iours.

As part of the crack­down, Shire man­ager for com­mu­nity safety Paul Dick­son said rangers would ac­com­pany reg­u­lar po­lice foot pa­trols around the town cen­tre at peak an­ti­so­cial be­hav­iour times.

Mr Dick­son said re­peat of­fend­ers could be barred from the re­serves for up to 12 months.
