Bulgarra Glory kick away to win championship
The Bulgarra Glory beat Salt 4-2 in the under-18s championship match to cap off several finals for the 2015 season of the Karratha and Districts Junior Soccer Association competition held on the weekend.
The under-13s and 18s played at Pegs Creek while the younger players finished off most of their games at the Leisureplex.
From the start the 18s match was a fast paced end-to-end game played with a high level of skill.
Glory took the early lead after 10 minutes and then followed up with a second goal in the 35th minute before Salt fought their way back into the game by scoring a late firsthalf goal.
The second half kick-off was taken by Glory and they caught Salt out, scoring their third goal within 20 seconds of the restart.
Salt scored their second goal with plenty of time left in the half.
In the 69th minute, Glory scored their fourth goal and despite continued pressure from Salt, Glory ran out the winners 4-2. Best on ground was awarded to the Glory goalkeeper Domenico Gulizia.
In the 13s age group, Nickol 2 beat Nickol 1 4-3 in the battle for third and fourth.
The grand final game for the 13s saw the undefeated Nickol 4 take on Nickol 3.
After the full 50 minutes the teams were not able to be separated and so the match went to a penalty shootout to decide the winner
The result was Nickol 3 defeated Nickol 4, 3-1.
Best on ground was awarded to another goalkeeper with Fionn Neeson from Nickol 3 taking the honours.
The junior soccer focus now turns to the KDJSA representative teams who will be competing in Perth during the first week of the September school holidays.
