Bul­garra Glory kick away to win cham­pi­onship

The Bul­garra Glory beat Salt 4-2 in the un­der-18s cham­pi­onship match to cap off sev­eral fi­nals for the 2015 sea­son of the Kar­ratha and Dis­tricts Ju­nior Soc­cer As­so­ci­a­tion com­pe­ti­tion held on the week­end.

The un­der-13s and 18s played at Pegs Creek while the younger play­ers fin­ished off most of their games at the Leisure­plex.

From the start the 18s match was a fast paced end-to-end game played with a high level of skill.

Glory took the early lead af­ter 10 min­utes and then fol­lowed up with a sec­ond goal in the 35th minute be­fore Salt fought their way back into the game by scor­ing a late firsthalf goal.

The sec­ond half kick-off was taken by Glory and they caught Salt out, scor­ing their third goal within 20 sec­onds of the restart.

Salt scored their sec­ond goal with plenty of time left in the half.

In the 69th minute, Glory scored their fourth goal and de­spite con­tin­ued pres­sure from Salt, Glory ran out the win­ners 4-2. Best on ground was awarded to the Glory goal­keeper Domenico Gulizia.

In the 13s age group, Nickol 2 beat Nickol 1 4-3 in the bat­tle for third and fourth.

The grand fi­nal game for the 13s saw the un­de­feated Nickol 4 take on Nickol 3.

Af­ter the full 50 min­utes the teams were not able to be sep­a­rated and so the match went to a penalty shootout to de­cide the win­ner

The re­sult was Nickol 3 de­feated Nickol 4, 3-1.

Best on ground was awarded to another goal­keeper with Fionn Nee­son from Nickol 3 tak­ing the hon­ours.

The ju­nior soc­cer fo­cus now turns to the KDJSA rep­re­sen­ta­tive teams who will be com­pet­ing in Perth dur­ing the first week of the Septem­ber school hol­i­days.
