Kar­i­jini to fo­cus on fam­ily-friendly ac­tiv­i­ties

Dates have been an­nounced for next year’s Kar­i­jini Ex­pe­ri­ence, which will be held over eight days from April 15 to 22.

Key events across the week will in­clude a culi­nary ex­pe­ri­ence, opera in the gorge and the cap­ti­vat­ing moon­rise mak­ers mar­ket and lounge, where hand­made wares and mu­sic will be com­bined with the magic of a full moon ris­ing on April 22.

Pil­bara In­land Cham­ber of Com­merce and In­dus­try chair­woman Sarah Kemp said the Kar­i­jini Ex­pe­ri­ence was a cel­e­bra­tion of our cul­ture, peo­ple and place.

“We be­lieve pas­sion­ately in cre­at­ing a pos­i­tive fu­ture and cen­tral to this is pro­vid­ing our chil­dren with the op­por­tu­nity to con­nect with and learn about the im­por­tance of these things,” she said.

“The 2016 Kar­i­jini Ex­pe­ri­ence is be­ing held in the April school hol­i­days, which will see greater fo­cus on events and ac­tiv­i­ties that are kid and fam­ily friendly… with a pro­gram that will al­low peo­ple to ex­pe­ri­ence this mag­nif­i­cent lo­ca­tion in un­ex­pected ways, im­mers­ing them­selves in the land­scape, the cul­ture and the many sen­sual joys of the re­gion.”
