FMG has funds for community groups
■ Community organisations involved in programs, activities and events in the Pilbara are encouraged to apply for funding up to $3000 through the Fortescue Community Support program.
The program, now in its seventh year, has helped not-forprofit organisations and community groups fund beneficial programs, activities and events.
It focuses on initiatives that embrace and support education and training, Aboriginal engagement, health and wellness, community safety, community involvement, economic development and environmental responsibility. Fortescue Group Government and Community manager Alexa Morcombe said the program supported more than 30 Pilbarabased community initiatives in its last round of funding.
“We’re very excited to work with another group of grassroots organisations focused on making a positive impact in the community,” she said.
The program is open to groups within the council boundaries of the Town of Port Hedland and Shire of East Pilbara and the towns of Tom Price and Roebourne.
Applications for the Fortescue Community Support are open from October 1 until October 31.
