As­so­ci­a­tion recog­nises sea­son’s stand-out per­form­ers

■ Net­ball play­ers, coaches and um­pires from across the City of Kar­ratha traded their jog­gers for heels ear­lier this month, as they gath­ered at the Kar­ratha Leisure­plex for the Kar­ratha Net­ball As­so­ci­a­tion’s an­nual pre­sen­ta­tions.

Di­vi­sion 1 best player was awarded to Karolyn Har­tung, closely fol­lowed by Hollie Ridg­way.

Is­abelle Bee­ton re­ceived the most votes in di­vi­sion 2, with Noreena Bero com­ing a close sec­ond. Kal­isa Storey took out the di­vi­sion 3 award, with the run­nerup prize tied be­tween Chantel Creevy and Yolanda Bell.

In di­vi­sion 4, Kayla Skin­ner was awarded top prize, fol­lowed by Anne Mitchell in sec­ond place.

Brooke Smith was the stand-out player in di­vi­sion 5, with a spe­cial men­tion to run­ner-up Lenka Hansen.

KNA com­mit­tee mem­ber Jor­dan Grig­son said it wasn’t just a night to celebrate the play­ers, but a good op­por­tu­nity to ac­knowl­edge the con­tri­bu­tions of the vol­un­teers, um­pires and coaches that make the sea­son pos­si­ble. Se­nior coach, um­pire and vol­un­teer of the year was awarded to Julie Bridge, Ka­rina Cald­well and Natalie May re­spec­tively.

The Kar­ratha Net­ball As­so­ci­a­tion’s ju­nior award win­ners were also ac­knowl­edged in a cer­e­mony ear­lier this month.

Te­quiras’ star player Reileigh Hamel was named the top player in the un­der-10 di­vi­sion, fol­lowed by run­ner-up So­phie Tay­lor.

The un­der-12s di­vi­sion A was won by Te­quiras’ Aly­cia Bue­naflor and di­vi­sion B’s top spot went to Wick­ham’s Tameka Ware.

Pan­thers’ Rah­nee Brown was crowned un­der-14s di­vi­sion A cham­pion and Te­quiras’ Chiedza Zimba re­ceived the most votes in di­vi­sion B.

Pan­thers’ player Chloe Jack­son took out the un­der-16s di­vi­sion A, with the Te­quiras’ Ail­ish Nee­son named run­ner-up.

Un­der 16s’ player Is­abella Cuz­zola took out the top prize in di­vi­sion B for the Te­quiras.
