■ A Karratha Little Athletics season comes and goes quickly, with September 18 marking the end of the 2015 season.

The last night was a fun-filled occasion where the athletes participated in many novelty events such as team relays, balloon popping with javelins and a back-breaking limbo dance.

It was great to see many parents join in the festivities as well.

However, there were probably a few mums and dads laid up on the couch on Saturday with tight hamstrings and sore backs.

As the novelty events wound up, it was time for a feed, the annual meeting and the athletes’ favourite, the presentation.

Amber Nielsen in the under-eight group won the club champion award.

Amber accumulated the most personal bests over the season and has her name on the trophy for 2015.

The club paid tribute to major sponsors Horizon Power, McDonald’s and Jetstar who supported KLA for the 2015 season, as well as Keyspot for providing the club trophies, Home Hardware, Bakers Delight, MMA Offshore, Rio Tinto and the Karratha and Districts Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The committee also thanked the parents who assisted each Friday.
