Im­pres­sive acts head to Roe­bourne

■ TAHLfest is re­turn­ing to Roe­bourne next month to em­power the com­mu­nity and en­cour­age healthy liv­ing choices through mu­sic.

Now in its sec­ond year, TAHLfest is a drug and al­co­hol-free event de­signed to send a pos­i­tive mes­sage of healthy liv­ing through free med­i­cal checks, cook­ing and health demon­stra­tions and give­aways.

Hosted by co­me­dian Andy Saun­ders and head­lined by for­mer Aus­tralian Idol win­ner Stan Walker, TAHLfest will bring an im­pres­sive ar­ray of lo­cal and na­tional acts to Roe­bourne.

Per­form­ers in­clude 2015 The Voice fi­nal­ist Scott Newnham, cul­tural dances and sto­ries by the young Noon­gar per­form­ers from Hamp­ton High School, along with per­for­mances by lo­cal acts Nic & Hemi and What Now!

TALHfest is an ini­tia­tive of the Mawarnkarra Health Ser­vice.

Mawarnkarra takes a holis­tic ap­proach to health care de­liv­ery pro­grams that are de­signed not just to ad­dress the cu­ra­tive needs of the in­di­vid­ual but also to im­prove the phys­i­cal, in­tel­lec­tual, so­cial, spir­i­tual, emo­tional and cul­tural well­be­ing of the Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ties in our re­gion.

TAHLfest will be held on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 30 from 4.30pm at the Roe­bourne School Oval.
