Rescue group thanks Rio

Pilbara News - - Opinion -

The West Pilbara Volunteer Sea Search and Rescue group in Dampier would like to thank Rio Tinto for its recent donation of a V8 LandCruiser tray-back ute.

The new ute will assist with vital tasks such as refuelling operations and remote launching of the inshore rescue craft the Sea Salt Lady, as well as being a back-up vehicle for the tractor that launches the North West Shelf Venturer and Sea Salt Lady.

Our previous ute was no longer able to reliably perform the tasks we needed from it, so securing a new ute was a priority.

Thanks to the support of Rio Tinto, we can continue to provide a high standard of search and rescue services to people in times of need.
