Kats victorious over Wickham to stay undefeated
elected to bat but lost four wickets early because of some line and length bowling from Jack Napier (2-8).
Mark Polkinghorne (46) was a rock down one end of the wicket but partners were being sent back to the pavilion too regularly to build a substantial partnership. Polkinghorne tallied more than half of Wickham’s final score of 7-76.
Wickham had the perfect start in defence of the small total, with Craig Nunn (2-5) taking two wickets in the first over. From there the Kats took control of the innings.
Opener Patrick Richards (28), second drop Geoff Spence (17 not out) and the in-form Nino Sturgeon (21no) guided the away team to a comfortable win with three overs to spare.
