Matts roll up to claim races

■ It was a night for the Matts at Nickol Bay Speedway, with a Matt winning all bar one of the categories at the weekend.

After winning the Brett Johnson Memorial Race the previous week, Matt Herbert backed up his efforts with another dominant display in the street stocks.

Once again he was followed in by Brian Herbert, with Matt Robertson rounding out the top three.

Matt Farrell had problems with the wing of his sprintcar in the heats but that did not stop him from besting Graham Wilson in their sprintcar duel.

And Matt Magerl continued his successful first season on the track with a comfortable win over Toni and Megan Couper.

There was no one with Matt as a first name in the wingless category, but Jayd Mathews took to the track for good measure.

Peter Bywaters ended the Mattdominated night by winning the feature, followed in by Mathews and Troy O’Keefe.

Matthew Farrell in action.
