■ It was comeback night last Thursday night with three come-from-behind wins and a near-miss as basketball resumed at the Karratha Leisureplex.

In the women’s division, powerhouse team Just Us was down against Hello Trouts early.

Trouts Mel Johnston was accurate from the field scoring nine points, for the match, as her side looked strong 15-11 going into the half.

Then things turned pear-shaped and the reigning minor premiers dug themselves out of their hole to win the match 30-23 against the valiant Trouts.

Also in the women’s action, the Blazers restricted the Sinners to six points in the second half of their match and overcame a five-point deficit to win by a single point 27-26.

The game got physical with both teams crying foul on defensive plays.

Amanda Mowarin got the crucial buckets for Blazers in the second finishing with 9 points.

Completing the trio of wins was Thunder in the men’s B-grade against Vipers.

Both sides were undefeated coming into the match and Vipers looked to have their opponents’ number at the end of the first with a small lead.

However, Vipers lost point guard Masri Amirell to a suspected knee injury and couldn’t get around Thunder’s full-court press, going down 18-26.

Thunder’s Kendall Taylor was elusive with the ball and scored 11 points. Vipers’ Chris McAllister had six. Coral Trouts went down by six points to #Yogetit in A-grade action despite a spirited come back from 11 points down at half-time.

Danford Parata hit three 3-pointers on his way to 11 points for #Yogetit as they kept their heads above water winning 37-31. Leigh Cover had nine points for Trouts.

Fourteen points from Beau Alec helped Mayuga Majik beat Pardoo Katz 58-32 in the other A-grade game.

In other B-grade action, the Warriors defeated Cardinals 45-27, and in the women’s, Mud Flaps defeated Goat Trouts 37-7 thanks to a combined 24-point effort from Erin O’Connor (15 points) and Sarah McDonald (nine points).
