Black Swan performs Shadowboxing

Pilbara News - - Education -

Onslow will get a taste of stage performance this weekend when the Black Swan State Theatre Company comes to town.

The troupe has been performing the piece Shadowboxing in metropolitan and regional venues.

The piece was written by Perth performer Ella Hetherington and was the second production created by Black Swan aimed at high school-aged children.

Shadowboxing explores the role of social media and the online world with the idea of one’s identity. It features two characters at a party as one of them begins to withdraw into another world called Shadow where he acts in a completely different way from how he does in reality.

The show will be a free performance at 1pm at the Onslow Multi-Purpose Centre on Saturday which will be followed by a workshop at 2.15pm.

For bookings, contact Shire of Ashburton senior activity officer Melissa Raffan on 9181 3305 or email Melissa.Raffan@ ashburton.wa.gov.au.
