■ When ra­dio broad­cast­ers Robbie Kl­itz­ing and Adam McGuire bit into their first toasted sand­wich live on RedFM’s Big Break­fast, they didn’t re­alise it would be the start of some­thing mag­i­cal.

On that day, Toasted Sand­wich Tues­day was born, and still re­mains one of show’s much-loved seg­ments.

Kl­itz­ing said ev­ery week since, they had tried a new cre­ation and were work­ing through recipes sent in by lis­ten­ers each week.

“It’s amaz­ing how quickly the peo­ple of re­gional WA took to TST,” he said.

“We tried dif­fer­ent fill­ings, from your tra­di­tional ham, cheese and tomato, to na­chos corn chips, salsa and sour cream.

“You def­i­nitely can’t beat the good old chicken parma in a sand­wich.”

Sev­eral loaves of bread and slices of cheese later, the boys have de­cided to take favourite meal to the next level with their very own Toasted Sand­wich Tues­day cook­book.

McGuire said they were call­ing on lis­ten­ers to crowd­fund the project and make their dream a re­al­ity.

“We want the peo­ple of WA to feel part of the jour­ney too,” he said.

“We’ve come up with a cam­paign which not only al­lows the lis­ten­ers to be in­volved, but busi­nesses to buy a page with an ad­ver­tis­ing pack­age on our sta­tion in­cluded in the price.”

With the cam­paign now live, McGuire and Kl­itz­ing aim to raise funds to recre­ate each sub­mis­sion and cover the print­ing, pub­lish­ing and pro­mo­tion of the book by Christ­mas. For more in­for­ma­tion on the RedFM Big Break­fast Toasted Sand­wich Tues­day Cook­book cam­paign, visit
