Raiders pair get fit for Leisure­plex fight night

Pil­bara box­ers are run­ning through their fi­nal prepa­ra­tions for the one of the big­gest events on the boxing cal­en­dar, the bi-an­nual Kar­ratha Fight­night.

The 10-card evening at the Kar­ratha Leisure­plex will fea­ture seven fight­ers from host club the Kar­ratha Raiders.

Raiders’ Scott Mur­ray and Liam Sor­rell will both be fight­ing in the 75kg weight divi­sion and have been work­ing on their car­dio, run­ning up and down the Kar­ratha hills to get ready for their bouts. Along with their fel­low club­men, they’ll be go­ing up against other fight­ers from the re­gion, Perth, and in­ter­state.

Spe­cial guest MC will be re­cently re­tired mixed mar­tial arts fighter and Ul­ti­mate Fight­ing Cham­pi­onship com­peti­tor Soa “The Hulk” Palelei.

The 38-year-old Hulk last fought in Au­gust this year in a loss to An­to­nio Silva at UFC 190.

The night will in­clude pre­fight en­ter­tain­ment, a DJ, li­censed bars, and a sports mem­o­ra­bilia auc­tion.

Tick­ets range from gen­eral seat­ing to VIP pack­ages and can be bought from the Onyx Cafe at the Leisure­plex or on­line at www.onyx­eventskar­ Doors open at 6pm with the first fight at 7pm.
