Call for awards nom­i­na­tions

Sports clubs and as­so­ci­a­tions play an im­por­tant role in our com­mu­nity and are of­ten run by ded­i­cated vol­un­teers, and now is the time to recog­nise th­ese peo­ple with a nom­i­na­tion for the Com­mu­nity Sports Awards.

On Fri­day Novem­ber 20, the FUTURECLUBS Club De­vel­op­ment Pro­gram, along with ma­jor sup­porter Rio Tinto, will hold a for­mal Com­mu­nity Sports Awards night to ac­knowl­edge lo­cal com­mu­nity sports groups and their vol­un­teers, play­ers, coaches and sport­ing achieve­ments over the last 12 months.

All mem­bers of the com­mu­nity are en­cour­aged to nom­i­nate a team­mate, player, vol­un­teer, ad­min­is­tra­tor, coach or um­pire they would like to recog­nise for their ef­forts and achieve­ments in sport. Any­one who sub­mits an ap­pli­ca­tion will go into the draw to win $200 to be put to­wards their des­ig­nated club.

Nom­i­nees who are short­listed for awards will be no­ti­fied shortly af­ter the clos­ing date and all nom­i­nees will re­ceive a cer­tifi­cate of recog­ni­tion.

Self-nom­i­na­tions will also be ac­cepted. Nom­i­na­tions close on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 4 so head to www.kar­ratha.wa.gov.au/ futureclubs and down­load the nom­i­na­tion in­for­ma­tion and forms.
