The Returner prawn trawler, which sank off Karratha’s coast with the loss of three Mid West lives, has been shifted by crane into a storage yard as investigations continue.

The vessel went missing in July, sparking a threeweek land, air and sea search by multiple agencies and private operators.

Skipper Murray Turner’s body was found on board the stricken vessel.

Mason Carter and Chad Fairley’s bodies are still missing.

A Department of Transport spokeswoman said the department was conducting a marine incident investigation in conjunction with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

The spokeswoman said findings would be provided to the coroner.
