Cannabis find at prison
A 30-year-old woman was arrested last week for allegedly smuggling in two small balls of cannabis that were found in an inmate’s mouth at Roebourne Regional Prison.
The Department of Corrections reported to Roebourne police on October 18 staff had found contraband wrapped in cling wrap during a routine strip search of a 28-year-old male prisoner after he was visited by the woman.
Following police inquiries, the woman was charged with supplying a prohibited drug on Friday.
The woman has been released on bail with a condition not to visit the prison.
