■ The Karratha community will get their say on the development of the new Health Campus according to WA Country Health Service.

WACHS told Pilbara News in September they had anticipated the first meeting of a community reference group would be held in October, however, this did not come to pass.

WACHS operations West Pilbara manager Mathew Ravenscroft said they hoped to announce the formation of the Karratha Health Campus Community Reference Group this month.

“It is envisaged that the Community Reference Group will include key stakeholder and community representatives,” he said.

“The group will ensure the community is kept fully informed about the development of the new campus and provide an ideal forum for two-way communication between the community and the health service.

“The feedback and input provided via this forum will assist the project to meet local community needs as well as explain the progress of the project.”

Last week it was revealed a new mental health facility would not be incorporated into the campus.
