A Nickol Bay Hospital doctor allegedly extracted $25,000 worth of methamphetamine during an internal search of a 51-year-old woman.

West Pilbara Detectives intercepted two women on Tuesday last week at the Karratha Airport who were flying in from Perth and suspected of conveying drugs.

The women were taken to the hospital, where Det. Sen. Sgt Munday said an internal search allegedly uncovered 35g of meth from the 51-year-old from Wattle Grove. She was charged with possessing the drug with intent to sell and supply. A 37-year-old Nickol woman was charged with possessing 55g of MDMA, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and a drugs charge from a few months ago.

The women appeared in Karratha Magistrate’s Court last week and were remanded in custody.

The 51-year-old is due to appear again February 2, while the 37year-old will appear December 23.
