Speedway has finished for another year, but not before a final race in which several drivers came unstuck.

The Halloween meet on October 31 was well attended and spectators were treated to plenty of tight racing, entertaining moments and big crashes. Speedway president John Magerl said it was great to see families come along to watch the racing.

“The guys dressed up as a parrot and Chewbacca and were a bit sore after being chased around the track by the kids during the running race,” he said.

“Chantelle Magerl hit the wall with her sprintcar and Meagan Couper redesigned her car’s front end.

“One of the cops actually wrote off the car he was driving in the emergency services race.”

Mr Magerl thanked the spectators, drivers, sponsors and volunteers for a “great” 2015 season.

The club has one final meet, with burnouts and a demolition derby on New Year’s Eve.
