Handmade Christmas gifts galore at market
The Friends of St Luke’s College annual Christmas Markets will be held at the end of the month, offering plenty of locally made gifts to put under the tree.
Friends of St Luke’s spokeswoman Lorraine Marshall said the group was gearing up for a wonderful day.
“This is a wonderful community event and one of our biggest fundraisers for the college,” she said.
“Funds raised at the market this year will go towards new bike racks for the students and also towards the upgrading of some of our facilities that are now starting to show their age.
“With over 40 stallholders selling everything from jewellery, quilts, artwork, home wares, cards and paperwork products through to cleaning products, crystals, candles and clothing, there is sure to be something that would be an ideal gift for you or for your Christmas gift to someone else.”
Mrs Thomas said the second-hand book store could prove a winner for Christmas reading ideas.
Food and drink will also be on hand, with the ever-popular homemade cake stall making a return, as well as a sausage sizzle, tea and slushies.
A raffle will be held to win a decorated cake or gingerbread house.
The market will be held from 11am-3pm on Saturday, November 28 in the St Luke’s College gymnasium, with Santa present from 1.30pm.
Natalie Richards’ stall paper pixie was popular last year.
