Fireworks display lights up night sky

■ It seemed there was no other place to be on Saturday, November 7, than at the Dampier Hampton Harbour Boat and Sailing Club for the annual Guy Fawkes fireworks and Leukaemia Foundation Light the Night walk.

Adults and children flocked to the Dampier Beach foreshore for an evening of fireworks, charity and festivities that altogether made for a great family evening. There was even cool weather. The drinks poured in the members-only area upstairs, while downstairs the sailing club served up a sausage sizzle and Asian buffet for the huge crowd.

There were plenty of market and food stalls to enjoy nearby and Perth band 44 Degreez entertained the crowd with live music throughout.

The Light the Night lantern walk and Guy Fawkes fireworks display were of course the highlights, but it’s safe to say the overall event was a huge crowd pleaser.
