Santa pops in for pre-Christmas visit
Santa is doing the rounds in the Pilbara to check on the region’s kids one last time before deciding who will go on his naughty and nice lists for Christmas this year.
Dozens of children lined Sharpe Avenue in Karratha on Friday night as the volunteer fireys drove Santa down the main drag with sirens blazing.
The Karratha Primary School choir sung Christmas carols for the crowd as Santa spent time getting to know the locals.
To mark his arrival, the City of Karratha’s Christmas light display was turned on by Mayor Peter Long.
Children also got to climb in and
around the big red fire truck before meeting the big red man himself.
Santa still has plenty of stopovers to make in the Pilbara before heading back to the North Pole to load up his sleigh.
Pelago East’s mystery lightbringer’s efforts paid dividends as well, with the apartment building now adorned end-to-end with Christmas lights.
