Council meetings moved to Tuesdays

The work rosters of new councillors have prompted a shift in dates for Shire of Ashburton council meetings.

Meetings will be held on Tuesdays instead of the traditional Wednesday as of the first meeting in 2016, on January 19.

Shire president Kerry White said with the shift changes of several councillors, Wednesday was no longer a working option and the council had to accommodate recent variations in working rosters for a number of councillors.

“The calendar of meetings for the coming year has been scheduled in consideration of the various rosters, with no significant operational impact to the administration of the Ordinary Meetings of Council,” she said. The December meeting in Onslow will be held on a Friday.
