Get familiar with Jesus’ birth story

Pilbara News - - Opinion -

I was in the shopping centre last week picking up food donations for our Christmas Hampers and trying to find a present for my wife.

I could hear the music and knew straight away the carol, it was quite a special moment. You know sometimes we take the carols for granted. I used to because every year I would be playing them in The Salvation Army band, sometimes on the back of a truck carolling around the neighbourhood.

But as I have grown older, I’ve realised that they tell a great story, yes, the story from God’s word the Bible, the story of Christmas, the story of why Jesus came into the world.

I encourage each of you to read the account of Jesus coming into the world, the reason why. It wasn’t all easy for his earthly parents but they persevered, they did as God had asked and were blessed. I hope you are blessed this Christmas by blessing others, by helping someone, by even thanking God for the gift of giving. Niall Gibson Karratha Salvation Army Captain
