Demo derby for end of year
The Nickol Bay Speedway is gearing up for end of year celebrations with big bangs and prangs promised on New Year’s Eve.
A demolition derby, racing and fireworks will see off 2015 out at the track and speedway president John Magerl is anticipating an exciting night.
“We’re going to have a couple of rounds of racing, a kids’ bike race, the demo derby then some fireworks after that around 10pm,” he said.
“It will be a great event for anyone left in town, and for families looking for something to do together.
“The kids can bring down their pushies and ride around the track if they want.
“Hopefully we will have about eight demo derby cars.”
Mr Magerl hinted the fireworks display would be memorable.
Juniors, wingless, street stocks and productions are all expected to race on the night as well as the feature event, the demolition derby.
This car may be destroyed during the demo derby.
Some of these cars will feature in the demo derby.
