PUPP project scheduled to make plenty of progress
Pegs Creek, Roebourne and the Karratha CBD will be the next areas in Karratha to be connected to the Pilbara Underground Power Project.
Work has already begun in the CBD and on overhead areas in Roebourne, and is expected to start in Pegs Creek this month.
PUPP project director James Carney said the project had come a long way since it began in November, 2014.
“There is plenty more activity happening in Karratha and Roebourne over the coming year to ensure we can deliver PUPP on schedule,” he said.
Some 253 properties were connected to the underground network last year, 338 streetlights were installed and 62km of cable were laid.
Bulgarra and the light industrial area are on schedule for full completion by the middle of the year, with the town to “experience the benefits” this cyclone season.
