Exploring app on right track
The Trails WA mobile app is the latest in a range of online and mobile resources being rolled out by the State Government to assist people in planning their camping and recreation experiences in national parks and reserves.
Department of Parks and Wildlife visitor services assistant director Rod Annear said the app would help people find out more about walking, cycling, mountain biking, four-wheel-driving, horse riding, snorkelling and paddling trails across the State.
“We are seeing more demand from tourists and locals to explore our wonderful natural areas, and it is important that we equip people with useful information in a modern, accessible way,” he said.
“Trails can be filtered and sorted by location, trail experience, trail type, time and level of difficulty, meaning there is something for everyone and people can discover all the amazing trails we have on offer here in WA.
Mr Annear said the app would include alerts for park, trail and road closures as well as bushfire alerts and condition reports.
