Black spot round ex­tended

There are still a few more days to nom­i­nate your area for bet­ter mo­bile cov­er­age.

The nom­i­na­tion pe­riod for round two of the Fed­eral Govern­ment’s na­tional mo­bile black spot pro­gram has been ex­tended to Jan­uary 15.

The pro­gram is de­signed to boost cov­er­age in re­gional ar­eas with poor or no mo­bile phone cov­er­age.

Nom­i­nated lo­ca­tions will go onto a na­tional data­base be­fore telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions com­pa­nies go through a se­lec­tion process to pro­vide new or up­graded sta­tions.

Mem­ber for Durack Melissa Price said the round two ex­ten­sion was a re­sponse to high de­mand and would al­low peo­ple and com­mu­nity groups enough time to nom­i­nate af­ter the hol­i­day sea­son.
