A community barbecue will be held every Sunday this month to allow Roebourne residents a say in what happens in their town.
Residents are invited to Andover Park from 6pm for a free sausage sizzle and a chance to voice their concerns about the community.
Michael Nikakis, of the Roebourne Community Association, said this year’s meetings would focus on decisions regarding the Roebourne Courthouse, which was closed after being damaged by cyclone Christine.
“A major thing, I believe, people are very concerned about is the courthouse and, virtually, the decision has been made not to reopen. I believe we could change that, if we all get together,” he said.
The meetings will also help the council decide on celebrations for Roebourne’s 150th anniversary in August.
