US beckons for dancers
A junior Karratha dance crew is headed to Hollywood to strut their stuff on the big stage in July and frozen yoghurt is helping them to get there.
The Dance FX crew has 22 students flying to Los Angeles to perform at Disneyland and Universal Studios.
Dance FX studio owner Jess Keuning said the girls would have the chance to participate in a main street parade with all the Disney characters in front of more than 4500 spectators.
“The students also have some fantastic workshop opportunities at Disney Performing Arts, Millennium Dance Complex and Abby Lee’s new LA studio, which all dancers are looking forward to,” she said.
“The students will start rehearsing every week in Term 1, learning 30 minutes of continuous choreography.
“Rehearsals will increase in Term 2 to enable the students to polish and perfect their routine.”
It is the second time Dance FX has made the trip, having first headed over in April, 2013.
Yo Get It owner Jess Buckley said she was excited to support this trip of a lifetime.
“It’s fantastic that such opportu- nities are available to our young local talent and that as a local business we are able to get behind these initiatives,” she said.
“Each month we will be supporting a new local charity, with $1 from every Froyo sold on Tuesdays being donated toward that cause.”
Ms Buckley said charities or groups wanting to raise funds could visit yogetit.com.au for more information.
