Supervisors sought for 2016 census
The call has gone out for locals with people skills to sign up to help the Australian Bureau of Statistics manage census operations across the State.
Up to 253 area supervisors are needed for the 2016 Census of Population and Housing, to take place on August 9 this year.
Western Australia Census director David Waymouth said the census provided an important statistical snapshot of the nation.
“Each area supervisor will recruit, train, lead and supervise a team of up to 12 field officers who will visit homes to support people completing the census. They will also quality check delivery and collection activities, protect data security and ensure the health and safety of their teams.”
Supervisors would earn close to $35 an hour, working flexible hours for up to five months.
Applications close on February 21 and can be viewed at abs.gov.au/careers.
