DPAW and Mu­ru­juga Rangers raised con­cerns last week af­ter a large patch of graf­fiti was found in Mu­ru­juga Na­tional Park. Lo­cals didn’t seem too pleased ei­ther. Ig­no­rant, in­sen­si­tive and de­lib­er­ately dis­re­spect­ful be­hav­iour!

Seems ev­ery­one had fond mem­o­ries to share of their cy­clone surf ex­pe­ri­ences in the wake of ex-trop­i­cal cy­clone Stan. I’ve seen big­ger swell then that up there dur­ing a cy­clone. But good to see peo­ple still surf­ing while a cy­clone is about.

Ge­orge Jr Var­navas This is where I lived for two years and you only get to surf a cou­ple times a year when it’s hol­low­ing cy­clonic con­di­tions.
