Member for Durack Melissa Price is calling on her constituents to celebrate the success of local businesses by nominating them for the 2016 Telstra Australian Business Awards.

For 24 years, the awards have recognised Australia’s entrepreneurial spirit and the courage of small and medium business.

Ms Price said nominating a business would give it the opportunity to be recognised among Australia’s best.

“It takes an incredible amount of sacrifice and tenacity to run a business, and we see this every day in businesses across Durack,” she said.

“It’s important for us to celebrate them and continue to encourage their growth. I encourage everyone to get behind these often unsung heroes by nominating our brilliant local businesses.”

Every business that enters the awards receives a free 70-page Business Health Check report evaluating their business.

Entries are open until March 23 across five award categories — New Business Award, Micro Business Award, Small Business Award, Medium Business Award and the Charity Award.

State and Territory winners will be named at gala event later this year.

The WA dinner and awards presentation will be on July 8.

To nominate or enter the awards, go to telstrabusines or call 1800AWARDS for further information.
