Cleaning up for Variety
Variety Thrifty and AUS Mechanical Services raised $2000 for Variety at a car wash in Onslow last month.
The car wash was held to help raise money on behalf of Onslow resident Bruce Strahan, who will take part in this year’s Variety WA Diamonds and Pearls Bash from Kununurra to Broome.
The Onslow community rose to the occasion and more than 50 vehicles lined up at the Beadon Creek Road site to be cleaned despite cyclone Stan looming off the coast.
“The $2000 will be put towards making life a little happier for some children,” Mr Strahan said.
Funds raised by Diamonds and Pearls Bash participants will help to provide practical equipment, programs and experiences to empower WA children, who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs, to live, laugh and learn.
