Master Builders is urging the Pilbara community to get young people involved in the building industry during the economic downturn.

Master Builders director Michael McLean is calling for businesses and employers to assist school leavers, apprentices and young tradesmen with work experience or job opportunities.

“WA has just come off an extraordinary period of high construction activity thanks to the mining sector,” he said.

“However, with many of these projects now coming to an end, new jobs are in short supply.”

The Pilbara Institute offers a range of apprenticeships and traineeships in the field of construction, engineering and carpentry.
