The Roebourne Community Association will revert to monthly meetings after hosting gettogethers every week in February to kick off discussions on projects.

Spokesman Michael Nikakis said the association had to get some “scores on the board” to build the resident’s belief in the power of the group.

“What we are going to aim for is to never have meetings out of the community,” he said.

“I’m hoping our meetings will be more structured in a tradi- tional Aboriginal way rather than the Western way of having an agenda and some person leading it.”

Mr Nikakis said the more community members they could get to take on responsibilities and come to meetings, the more successful the association would be.
