Demolition to give way to development
Demolition of Exmouth’s old RSL and Senior Citizens buildings is expected to begin in the next few weeks.
Shire of Exmouth chief executive Bill Price said both buildings have been vacant for some time and the demolition will give way to town development.
“Both buildings are old and in various states of disrepair, so council decided that now was a good time to demolish, clearing the way for new development as part of the town centre revitalisation plan,” he said.
“Under the current town plan- ning scheme the land is earmarked for commercial development, but in the short term the area will be filled and used as overflow parking for the town centre shopping precinct.”
The Exmouth RSL club is being demolished.
