Tom Price and Pannawonica residents will have a chance to shave or colour their hair this weekend for the World’s Greatest Shave.

Community events will be hosted at the Pannawonica Sporting Club from 7pm on Friday and Mountain View Sporting Club in Tom Price from noon on Saturday.

Word has it a Tyrannosaurus rex will be present at the Tom Price event.

WA Leukaemia Foundation gener- al manager Andrew York said hipster beards and moustaches should be in line for the chop this year as well.

“When you’re healthy, it’s hard to understand the value of counselling, transport to and from chemotherapy, or being given a free place to stay during treatment if you come from the country,” he said.

The State Government recently announced the Leukaemia Foundation would receive an allocation of land in Shenton Park to build new accommodation facilities for regional families.
