Session on building code changes
The Building Commission will take its Building Code of Australia information sessions on the road in April.
The commission will travel to nine locations around the State, stopping in Karratha on April 12.
The Pilbara building industry will be briefed on changes to the BCA that will come into effect on May 1, as well as other building- related matters. Building Commissioner Peter Gow said the body was committed to ensuring building industry stakeholders in regional WA had access to the same information as their metropolitan counterparts.
“Our regional roadshows are an effective way of achieving this and we encourage members of the Pilbara building industry to take this opportunity to meet with us face-to-face and hear about important changes affect- ing them and their industry,” he said.
There will be a morning session for builders, building surveyors, designers and local government permit authorities, which will focus on building code changes and how the technical standards can be applied. A registration fee will apply. There will also be a free afternoon session, with anyone working in the building industry welcome to attend.
