Book borrower wins dinner prize
Karratha library has chosen one lucky borrower as the winner of its Love Your Library month dinner date competition.
The first-time competition, which ran throughout February, offered library members a specially chosen themed cookbook and DVD combination to borrow and use as inspiration for a unique night in with their loved ones.
Library officers chose the best entrants from photos emailed through and last Thursday they announced Karratha resident Shelley Parsons the winner.
She received a $100 voucher for dinner at Blanche Bar.
Mrs Parsons’ package from the library included an Indian cuisine cookbook and a DVD of culture-clash food film The Hundred-Foot Journey.
She said she “cooked up a storm” of dhal, curry, and jasmine rice from it. “I personally loved the whole idea and thoroughly enjoyed the process,” she said.
