The 2016 Beats in the Heat music and camping festival line-up has been announced.

This year, the festival will be a two-day event at Karratha Entertainment Complex, in Bulgarra, on Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25.

Headlining acts include country star John Williams, dance music group The Potbellees, hip-hop artist Drapht, and jazz/ska outfit The Cat Empire.

Also hitting the stage will be Art vs Science, British India, Yolanda Be Cool, Some Blonde, KLP, Mashd n Kutcher and many more. Another huge act and a line-up of local bands are set to be announced next month.

Festival organiser Bart Parsons said he hoped the eclectic line-up would bring a wider audience.

“We want to make it a friendly festival,” he said.

“The age demographic is more varied; a good majority of the people interested are aged from 30 onwards.”

Aside from the music, punters will be able to enjoy a silent disco, free car parking, and an all-day-long food extravaganza.

Mr Parsons hopes to organise a number of events leading up to the festival including DJ workshops in schools, a talent show in Roebourne and a battle of the bands competition, with the winner opening the festival on the main stage.
