■ One of the North West’s most popular natural phenomena will begin again from tomorrow night on mudflats across the Pilbara.

Staircase to the Moon will start from 6.55pm and can be seen at Hearson’s Cove, Cossack, Point Samson and Onslow.

It will continue over the next two days at 7.32pm and 8.11pm, respectively.

Locals and visitors in the Pilbara can expect 26 staircases this year, with the next event to take place from April 23 to 25.

A full schedule is available on page 27 in the Pilbara News Dampier Archipelago tide booklet. For those wanting to photograph the staircase, play with camera settings around a 4.5 aperture, ISO of 1000 and shutter speed of more than 1/200.
