■ The City of Karratha, the Shire of Exmouth, and the Tom Price Youth Support Association have each been handed $1000 in State Government grants to deliver National Youth Week events next month.

The events will range from festivals to workshops, and aim to celebrate and acknowledge the positive contribution young people make in their communities.

The Shire of Exmouth has given the funds to Youth Action Exmouth group who will host a twoday music workshop for teenagers between 13 and 18 years old.

Shire of Exmouth chief executive Bill Price said the project would give the town’s young people new opportunities.

Tom Price Youth Support Association will hold the Backyard Bash festival with a variety of activities, games and workshops.

The City of Karratha is putting on live music event, Sparkfest.

National Youth Week WA runs from April 8-17.
